Singer Iris Ederer and multi-instrumentalist David O’Connor present a new project with the unusual combination of voice and baritone saxophone. They bring together songs selected from a range of sources - jazz, folk, classical, metal, traditional, blues - as well as improvisational elements from jazz and free improvised music. They also presented a program interpreting seasonal songs from Britain and Austria during the Christmas season, choosing songs that were both representative of their origins yet open to adaptation. Taking an open ended approach to the materials, the sparse instrumentation means that directions can change suddenly and nothing is out of bounds.
